To be honest I was thinking about a conversation I had with a friend last week who said there are almost no decent WW2 desert war films in colour.

I know LoA was not WW2, the question just stuck with me.
Few Desert War films because the US would prefer to forget most of their involvement, so no American cinema audience.

Day 4 - El Alamein - The Line of Fire (Italian Title: El Alamein - La linea del fuoco) is an Italian film directed by Enzo Monteleone.

“Enemy Mine” is the b-movie sci-fi remake.
The original Lee Marvin/Toshiro Mifune movie was “Hell in the Pacific”.

I know that there wasn't much fighting in it but how have we overlooked Bridge On The River Kwai?
Tora, Tora, Tora. Which the autocorrect wanted to call To raise Torquay Tora.
Breaker Morant
Mel Gibson's good one, Gallipoli.

'Potop' about the 17c attack on Poland? Alexander Nevsky by Eisenstein?

And if you're going to include things like Bridge on the River Kwai, thten the Great Escape has to be eligible. I'm finding it interesting how there's no love for things like Von Ryan's Express, or The Bridge at Remagen.
