The horse colours are in the unit descriptions for every regiment. It’s possibly the best answer to a question that’s ever appeared on here

I’m not sure it should be encouraged? Where will this end ? First you answer questions, then threads stay on topic. Before you know it people will be discussing wargames and not dildos. And think what will happen to the poor puns.

There will be crowds of deserted puns roaming the streets. First they will be sorrowful, then frightened, then the puns will become angry, soon no body will dare walk the streets for fear of the raging puns.

Yes so the Prussian belief was the darker the horse, the stronger it was. Apart from good English stock which were very expensive. I think I’ve said this at least 4 times on this forum now I am so boring.
But there was also size of mounts in factor, the little buggers went to the lights.

One regiment, I think the Puttkamer had the polish horses referred to. Another had that very light chestnut colour with white manes and tails. Zieten regiment had pure grey, whites IIRC. One Hussar regiment had black horses of slight stature.

Welcome to the niche of my niche of my niche, niche. What a useless load of niche I’ve learnt.

Strangely it was Zieten I was after. So they took on the lesser horses, the way Dragoons previously had (for not being proper cavalry).

Nice! They were absolute badasses. They even saved The King once.

Similar approach for the Austrians. Once attrition set in, any horse was a horse, of course.

Actually, given that the Prussians nicked some of the Austrian stud farms in Silesia during the WAS, the horses were the same!

Are you sure Duffy wasn't referring to human flesh, rather than horse flesh?
