Little Big Man Decals

Post by ochoin »

I'm thinking of taking advantage of the Newline sale & buying some Polybian Romans to replace the plastic HaT ones I have.
...and the issue of shield designs seems to suggest LBM decals.

You had any experience with these?

The product looks great but the process of applying the transfers looks like a nightmare.

They're pretty easy to work with with 28mm figures. I'm using some now on my Gauls. I've used them in the past for 15mm as well, which is a bit fiddly, but not too challenging. I'd recommend them if I were asked.

I’ve had a few problems with the process for Roman ‘bossed’ shields. I’m about to try again as it happens, there’s some useful suggestions here:

and the use of Microsol is recommended:

I get lockdown, but I get up again.

I have never used microsol, do you just splodge it on and it does its magic?

being self adhesive, does the microsol not affect the glue?

Used them a lot on many different armies. I’ve never needed microsol. Cut them out carefully, tissue with lots of water on and give it a good soaking. Then position and tamp down the edges with a craft knife or toothpick. Then carefully mop dry with a dry tissue. Then spray varnish.
