Anything can fly briefly. I was in a chopper with a sheared off tail rotor which flew briefly.

Someone calculated that the Wessex could fly without a tail rotor so long as the airspeed doesn't drop below 90 knots. Below that the airframe starts turning in the opposite direction to the main rotors.

I've been told that is true of any chopper. Certainly taking control in level flightyou hardly touch the pedals. Problem was, we were doing a pass over a tight drop off, so we were about 75 kts when the rotor sheared. Fast enough to slide up a tree branch, but not fast enough to keep calm and carry on.

In groups of 6 or less, and not in anybody's house. So basically, swinging is severely curtailed, but dogging is now compulsory.
