Well indeed! As mentioned in the article, if Pembrokeshire has to have a war, it's exactly the sort of war we should be good at - colossal amounts of alcohol, terrifying female matriarchs who excel at applied violence, people turning up late or not at all and general shambolic incompetence all round. It makes me so proud...Jamanicus wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 11:30 pmAh yeah, I actually looked it up at the time and seems a pretty interesting story to be fair! Plus Jon said he thinks the old folk lore is just a bit of fun, but loves the history of it as a proper Pembrokian.RMD wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 12:44 amHere you go... Sadly all the local museums, council, schools, etc, prefer to push ridiculous fiction instead of actual history...![]()

As it happens, my dad and his brother spent their holidays re-enacting the 'battle' over Llanwnda rocks, where the French made their brief stand. His uncle's family had owned the land from at least 1830 and probably had in 1797.

Anyway, give my regards to my Brother From Another Descendant of Jemima Jon and ask him how Kenny Twatt is getting on.
