I have 60+ legionaries, sculpted in something like a leather cuirass.

I've got two options: chuck them or paint them in the leather.
Guess which one - possibly historically incorrect- I'm going to choose?

Back to the original question, it looks like these TOY SOLDIERS were sculpted with some form of 'solid armour' on the torso. So as to Norm's point, if you wanted to make it less like the 'Knights of Camelot' and more like it might be might have some historical basis, go with a leather colouring.

Don't forget, if a leather breast plate is too long, just shave some off the bottom with a very sharp knife...(no need for any references to experiences of 'wearing leather body suits' and other general leather-bound gimpery)

Lorica Musculata is not wearer-adjustable in the slightest short of hacking a bit off.
Probably not a centurion-approved procedure."

Sufficiently different from:

Your answer, starting with the 'eerrrm... no.' opening kinda sets a tone for the way any normal person might read it, which is why I think Norm read it that way

MASSIVE CAVEAT - yes, I referred to Norm as being a 'normal person', please only take that reference in the context of me imagining his reading.....and second huge caveat, he can't be an NFN (Normal for Newcastle) as he can actually read

OK no problem, I felt that the LOLNO was very dismissive and that the comment regarding belts and mail, very patronising in tone. I tried to be less dismissive or patronising and a little lighter rather than just laughing at someone for saying something. I originally also had a sentence about what what we'd done with mail in the re enactment groups i'd been in but took that out because I felt it was to pompous to bring all that up.....
I just don't like double standards and felt that the Norms comments were unwarranted given what he had said before. Cheers for giving me some reasonable responses
