I always spray prime my steel bases with a proper metal primer. Do peeps do anything when using coins? Had a discussion about PVA not sticking that well to bare coins?

Re: Priming metal bases
I've never primed metal bases of any kind. In fact I've scraped the primer off the upper surface of those pre-primed metal bases because I don't like the idea of sticking anything onto a coat of primer.
I mix PVA with cheap filler for the first coat on my bases. That's never come off yet without some persuasion.

Re: Priming metal bases
Merry Christmas to you to. And a happy New Year.
Re: Priming metal bases
I just use the standard primers. Black, grey or white depending on what i'm using it for and how I feel on the day

Sometimes...…..sometimes....I even use the red primer :o

My shinys are stuck on steel washers. I'm just undercoating in humbrol enamel as normal. Am I doing it wrong?
Re: Priming metal bases
I used to stick the figure on with contact adhesive and then the base would receive the same spray coat as the figure
