Another vote for PC from me
VB: all 1/72 & 20mm figures. It's all I do.
You might notice a thin smattering of the old Airfix figures in the ranks.

Re: 2020 Show game: ACW

What's your opinion of Pickett's Charge? Iain Thank you, Iain. As you know, PC is also from the same stable as the General d'Armee Napoleonic rules, which I very much like. Thus the similar mechanisms meet my approval. I'm not very knowledgeable about the ACW so I'm not the person to ask about hist...

Re: 2020 Show game: ACW

Two important questions here:- 1) Is it like Count Andy's ACW collection, where it's actually just one figure photo-shopped a multiplicity of times? 2) Which blue(s) do you use? 1) No no no no no....no no no....no 2) a range of Vallejo ones: primarily Prussian Blue (I was very tempted to write &quo...

2020 Show game: ACW

Our little group have run a game at the local Train & Hobby Show for 12 years now. It provides focus for the year's activities (which will, however, include other games) and we do look forward to the 2 days of gaming, interacting with the crowds etc. Our 'Oldest Member' is an ACW-nut. He has lit...

Re: General d'Armee

Index for GdA:

http://generaldebrigade.blogspot.com/ (look right- rules updates).

The man himself, DB, gave me the link on TMP.
Goes to show, there's still a few decent characters in that hell hole though I think we're now outnumbered by the RWNJs.

I've no desire to trash the rules: they just aren't a good fit for me.
I also don't eat crab, prawns or lobster so what would I know?

Re: General d'Armee

Oh, I got that some years ago & didn't love it so I use our home-groan rules. BTW I found an Index for GdA. Composed by some fan, it runs to 3 pages. I downloaded it some time ago & forgot I had it. I also forget where it came from......some blog? I started to search & will get back to y...

Re: Castle Build

Embankment might be the go. Have you thought about using paper sheets with a stone pattern for the bottom bits? The sort of thing you buy, fairly cheaply, from model train shops. Cut to size & glue on mdf. If the pattern is different, even better because most of these things were built on earlie...
