Magnet and Steel
Re: Magnet and Steel
As you point out steel bases and magnetic vinyl can create a very strong air-tight seal if left long enough. Isn't air pressure wonderful? I've learnt to break the seal first by sliding the base a fraction before trying to remove the figures.

Same here, there's no real cosmetic difference so it's better to ere on the side of caution.Count Belisarius wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 5:02 pm I do it that way round as I read somewhere ages ago that magnetic paper can lose it's magnetism over time and it's easier to line a new box than re-do all the bases! I've no idea if that's true or not but I'm not changing now!

I found a quite large roll of sticky magnetic tape in Poundland. Guess how much it cost.
In the interests of science I’ve been experimenting with it today and I conclude it would be ok for card counters (indoors, not out) but do not trust your figures to it.

Wasn’t Magnet and Steel a 1980s American cop show?
Former retired cop Ol’ Joe Steel goes back on the job to solve one last murder.... and unexpectedly finds himself having to team up with Dr Micheal Magnet, amateur sleuth and State gynaecologist.

I always liked the old fantasy cop show, Dragon Net.

Now you’ve gone and reminded me of that old Raymond Burr series where he rode around in an ACW-era revenue cutter arresting smugglers - ‘Ironsides’.

I too recommend Anchor Magnets for all your needs, although I cut my own steel sheet.

I always liked Magnum Pi, about an ice-cream salesman and forensic mathematician.
